TIP- As the chart for the Fair Isle pattern is fairly complex and due to age some of the marked squares are a little on the faint side, therefore you may find gently shading the squares needed with your chosen colour beneficial. This super vintage pattern is for a lady's Ancient Egyptian patterned Fair Isle Jumper designed to fit a 36-38 inch bust and is definitely a conversation starter!! The jumper was originally knitted in 3-ply wool of various shades on No.11 and No.12 needles; however you may wish to try this pattern in a modern 4-ply as vintage yarns were 'heavier' than their modern counterparts, but as always work a tension square first to see if a change of needles is needed (tension information etc. below).
