Vintage Kodak No. 3 Brownie Large Box Camera 124 Film

Description: Up for bid is an original vintage pre-owned Kodak No. 3 Brownie Box Camera 124 Roll Film. Found at an estate sale of a vintage camera collector. This camera is the basic Box Roll film with leatherette covered card case design. The outside case is great condition for its age with minor wear from use and storage. It measures about 5 ¼” tall by 6 ¼” wide by 4 ½” deep. It uses a 124 film. The case is removed for loading film by releasing two pivoted catches and pulling out winding key to expose the metal film carrier. The inside is in excellent condition. The lens used in these cameras is a Meniscus Achromat. It has two reflecting viewfinders that are clear and has a tripod socket on the underside . On the top front of the camera are slide-outs for a bulb(time) setting and f/holes. It has a rotary shutter, and the shutter trigger works wonderfully. The Picture size is 3 ¼” by 4 ¼”. These cameras were produced from 1908 to 1934. Interesting Facts about this camera: The No.3 Brownie used 124 film and produced a very large negative perfect for contact printing. This camera was marketed with the idea of grabbing the business of vacationers. This demographic would flock to places like Coney Island, where photographers would photograph them and, at the end of the day, produce a "post-card" print. This is one of the Brownies that did that very same thing, cheaper with a bit longer waiting time for the print, of course.
