Description: Vintage Korean Embroidery & Silk Hand Painted Hanging Wall Scroll-Geisha SmokingThis Korean wall hanging is very old, but I am not sure of the date it was made. This was part of my mother's estate-found it in a box in the back of the living room shelving. I'm sure it was purchased one one of their trips abroad back in the 50's or 60's. There is a tag on the back saying it was made in Korea. The two Geisha girls are sitting together and the one in front is smoking a pipe of some sort. The hand painted picture is accented with embroidery and pressed silk. The picture is on paper that is mounted on a background of green silk covered handmade paper. The scroll measures 15" wide by 35" long. The painted & embroidered picture in the middle measures 11.5" x 12.5".No major damage-no stains-in age appropriate condition. There are small about 1" tears where it attaches to the scroll bar. Smoke free home.
