The ancient Hercules knot is a wedding symbol of binding love and strength and also symbolizes the fertility of Hercules. This myth is believed to be the origin of the phrase “tying the knot” in the context of marriage. Today Lalaounis has designated the Hercules knot a symbol of Good Luck in the year 2021 to coincide with the 200th anniversary of Greek Independence.
