Description: Vintage Stoneware Cobalt Blue Spongeware Splatter Schooner/Windmill Pitcher. This is great large sized cobalt blue spongeware pitcher also sometimes called spatterware. The cobalt blue sponging has a pretty pattern and a unique projected handle. The schooner “Wonderer” is painted on one side and a windmill and house on the other side. The blue sponging covers the entire pitcher including the handle. A great piece for any primitive or spongeware collection. This pitcher is in very good condition with just a couple of minor glazed pottery marks made during production. The blue color is a beautiful cobalt. It measures almost 9 inches tall and 7 inches in diameter from the spout to the rim.
