Brave words, me fellow scribbler, but a trifle optimistic. We should twist it around a bit and say: "There's so much bad in the worst of us Plus a little in the best of us That it's a wonder any of us Can even stand the rest of us.? With this in mind, "LET's FACE IT" makes a pessimistic approach to character analysis through caricature. Here's how you do it: Flip the pages (right side for men - left side for women) seeking the facial characteristics you see in your subject. Do not make any attempt to find a correct likeness (it's hardly likely you will anyway). On the contrary if your subject has a hook nose - pick it out of the nose section. If he has voluptuous lips - pick the ones nearest to him. In the four parts you'll get a good caricature of him and then you'll have a fairly accurate, though a trifle caustic, analysis of him or her. "LET'S FACE IT" tells the truth without pulling any punches. It gives you the lowdown on the people you consort with, eat with, play with. It might be a good idea if you started to know a little about them. And the same thing goes for yourself. Take a good look at your pan and see yourself through "LET's FACE IT" as others see you. There's fun with "LET'S FACE IT' even without making caricatures. Spell out the names of friends and those you think are your friends and see what funny looking automatic caricatures you get. Another thing you can do is to find the dream man or woman of your life or that of your friends. The woman and man facing each other on opened pages are affinities and ideal mates. So if you have no boy friend or girl friend, find your ideal mate and go seek him, dear girl - or go seek her, dear boy. And may the Lord have mercy on your soul. Copyright 1943 by B. F.
