Description: Vintage Lotus Mandolin..1970's...early model...made in Japan. Lotus is a brand by Samick..likely the largest instrument maker in the world...certainly during this time period. They were originally made in Japan..later moving to Korea. Research.and photos show this to be one of them. You can tell by the bulid..and craftsmanship. Solid body construction, including the top...the deeper Tobaccoburst finish...tuners..string cover is plain..so scribbing..and instrument weight. The later models from Korea also always have an inspection sticker on the heel..which is not present. They did have a small sticker on the back of the headstock stating Japan..but they peel off in time. It is a beautiful Mandolin...of course has some finishwear..some scratching...and a couple of nicks..but still a beauty. All original. It has had a full pro setup...cleaning, polishing, buffing...everything dis..and re-assembled, tuners, etc...has the floating bridge...so you can adjust to your liking. The action is great...neck is straight and true...heel solid with no issues. The sound is big and bold..with a lovely tone. New strings too. Bronze wounds. While here...it has had plenty of playing time...and is now ready for it's new home. Might not want to pass this one by...very unique. Also comes with a new gig bag.
