Description: This sale is for the 4-inch "91" version of the famous Lucas "Girder" design of adjustable spanner.Often included in the tool kit of up-market post-war cars such as Bentley and Jaguar.Although not new, the condition shows little evidence of use. In particular the jaws are unmarked and the screw action is smooth.The surface is un-painted steel but with very little signs of corrosion.The tool is engraved with the famous Lucas Torch crest one side, and "GIRDER" No 91, JOSEPH LUCAS LTD. ENGLAND on the other.The tool is called GIRDER as it is cleverly-designed around a steel girder shape for strength and smoothness.
