Description: Vintage Malibu Castle & Showboat Fun Centers Arcade Game Token w Necklace Loop Description Up for sale is a vintage Malibu Castle Park game token from the mid to late eighties. I recall frequenting this place whenever my birthday came around. I found this piece of the past lying in a drawer that belonged to a family member that's no longer with us (which means that for all intents and purposes, this is part of an ongoing online estate sale of sorts) and was immediately flooded with nostalgic memories of playing at this arcade, riding their go-carts, eating pizza whilst watching their Animatronic animals play music, and playing skee-ball for tickets that would be exchanged for prizes (among other things). Anyways, aside from that stroll down memory lane... these tokens are a bit hard to find nowadays since that recreational game center went out of business a long time ago. And this token was altered with a hole punched right through it in order to accommodate a chain loop which can be used to hang it from a chain like a piece of jewelry. Don't ask me why someone thought this was a good idea back in the day, but I guess it seemed like a unique thing to do at the time... we never thought a place like that would shut down, but here we are; decades later, some of us still nostalgic and whatnot. Anyways, this token was a bit dark when I found it, so I took an abrasive polishing wheel on a handheld rotary tool to it and manage to brighten up to the point where it was seemingly shiny again and not very dull and dark as it was. Here's some additional information, provided courtesy of eBay's AI description feature... "Own a piece of arcade history with this vintage Malibu Castle & Showboat Fun Centers game token! This token features a unique design with a necklace loop, making it a great addition to any collection. Produced in the United States and composed of an unknown material, this circulated token is a great example of classic gaming culture. Whether you're a collector or just looking for a nostalgic piece of the past, this token is sure to impress." The token is approximately 1" wide in diameter and about 1/8" thick. I'm not exactly sure what it's made out of... but I figure it must be some kind of light brass. Sometimes it almost feels like you're holding metal coated plastic or something. Anyways, I'm pricing this item to move, so please be sure to get in on this deal while it still lasts, for my loss is your gain as they say in the trade.
