Description: This is a vintage set that has wear. It comes with a small manopoulos pamphlet which looks 1960s or 1970s. This set has been used a lot. The pieces have a lot of wear to them look closely at the king and queen set. One of the pieces is a reddish brown the other is a darker brown. The only thing I can figure out is, the reddish piece may have been added to the original set because the original piece was perhaps lost. I don’t know the history of the set the pieces actually could be a lot older perhaps 1940s or 50s . A castle has a small chip in wood,I’m not sure but the board does look mid century. It also has a backgammon board but no pieces, the chess pieces I have, but they’re all there and one extra pawn. The most wear is to the side of the board where the two pieces are folded, and there is a lock. there is a slight warp on that side so it will not lock. It is still usable board and game. It’s very earthy and old looking. Would look great in a Sherlock Holmes eclectic type home decor. The pieces being so worn gives it a very cool look.
