VINTAGE MECHANICAL COURTLAND BLACK DIAMOND COAL CO. DUMP TRUCK WINDUP TIN TOY

Description: Estate Find. Vintage Courtland tin toy Black Diamond wind up coal truck with working Wind up mechanism Circa 1950s. Overall condition: Wind Up works, but I had to hold the front wheel to get it fully wounded, though it will wind without doing it. Once wounded the front tires will spin nicely but when I laid down on the floor the truck doesn't go anywhere and the string inside that allows the tailgate to go up and down has snapped and will need to be replaced to allow the lever to work properly. Seems like it would doable considering the tabs look fairly easy to bend out so someone could get to it to remove the old string and replace it with a new one.The truck is complete, and it does have obvious play wear as shown. It also has a very small pebble like ding on the front hood as,pictured. Could use a little tlc, but it's definitely a great candidate as everything is complete or just simply it the way it is.
