Description: Vintage Mego The Black Hole HUMANOID With Cloak 1979 Walt Disney Super Rare! You are Bidding on a 1979 Vintage original The Black Hole Humanoid Action Figure. It is one of the rarest action figures in existence. The condition in my opinion is C8. There are a few flaws namely a small chip on top of head (Please See Pictures) The right thumb has a small stress mark.(Please See Pictures) There is a Separation of the cape about a half inch long on back of cape I don't know if they were designed like that but it is there. The limbs are very rigid no loose limbs and the waist is super rigid. The cloak itself is in very good condition. Overall Excellent. It is missing the boots. Figures for The Black Hole were first released in 1979, to coordinate with the film’s Christmas release that year. As we all know, the movie bombed, and the figures did no better.It didn’t help that Mego focused the first series of figures on the human characters, whose costumes were visually boring. The only standouts were the few robots: Maximillian, V.I.N.C.E.N.T., and the Sentry. The line’s best figures, however, were never seen by most collectors, as they were included in a second series whose release was limited after the line was cancelled.Collectors search feverishly for figures from the rare, almost-mythic second series from 1980, that never saw release in the United States. Those figures include the S.T.A.R. soldier, Old B.O.B., and perhaps the rarest figure of them all, the Humanoid. The Humanoid, the mindless drones that operate Dr. Reinhardt’s ship The Cygnus, was the only Black Hole figure to feature soft goods (cloth accessories). It was only released in Canada and Italy, and is extremely rare today. Only three loose figures have ever been graded by The Action Figure Authority. In addition, only one Canadian carded figure and one Italian carded figure have ever been graded by them.Loose examples are often missing the cloth boots, and the robe is extremely difficult to find in good condition.
