Description: This is an old Mexican mask, made of wood and seed pods. The nose seed pod is like a Catalpa pod, painted and rattles when shaken. There are four more seed pods around the mouth and chin, one has some of its paint worn off. The mask has eye and mouth holes, cut in crescent shapes. It doesn't seem to have been worn, no oil marks where it would meet the face. It has holes at the top and each side below the eyes. 9" tall, 6.5" wide, 9.5" deep at nose. Someone has written 1999 and Mexico on the back corner. We have had this since about 2005 and it always looked old. I think someone bought it in 1999, but not new then.
