Description: Vintage Mike Mulligan & His Steam Shovel Collector's Wooden Toy Schylling 1999 This commemorative Mary Anne Steam Shovel was created to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the children's book classic, "Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel" by Virginia Lee Burton. This hand made piece is a representative of the type of toys made in a bygone era long before the advent of plastic toys. Entirely made of wood with a lithographed paper decoration, this toy has been produced in limited quantities and is destined to become a true collectible. It is made by hand and slight variations may exist in the finish. No two pieces are exactly alike and these variations are normal for this type of toy. Good pre-owned, vintage condition. Minor warping of the paper decoration (photos 15, 16), small nicks on the plow (photo 17) and minor wear to the wheels (photo 7). Includes original box paper insert.
