Description: Vintage Miniature Hawaiian Bisque Hula Baby Doll - Jointed with Grass Skirt and Lei **80+ year old item. Please view photos closely. Sold as is. This item is aged but still a nice item.** This adorable vintage miniature Hawaiian bisque hula baby doll, made in Japan between the 1940s and 1950s during the U.S. occupation, is a rare find for collectors of Hawaiian culture or WWII-era artifacts. Standing just 3 inches tall, this jointed doll is in remarkable condition for her age, with detailed painted face and hair, which has aged well, and shows normal wear. Her grass skirt and lei are securely adhered, as is her underwear. The jointed arms and legs, connected by visible cord, which you can see from the back side, allow for gentle movement, though the doll has primarily been kept in a display condition due to its age there is still wear. I have not moved the arms and legs a lot and have not tried to move them around too much. The vibrant grass skirt and lei are well-preserved, but aged. You can see from the back where the skirt is connected. Natural process of normal loss of color over time but still a nice green. There is some bent grass on her skirt. The doll itself is very clean for a piece that’s over 80 years old. Please examine the photos carefully for further details. This is a charming and historic collectible that won’t last long! Perfect for collectors of Hawaiian memorabilia or WWII history enthusiasts. I am unsure if looking at the doll from the back if you could originally see the joint bands or not. With age this might have happened. This is a pre loved item 80+ years old, please look at photos and DM with questions.
