Description: Offered for your consideration is a vintage “peek-a-boo” propelling pencil, made in Denmark c.1968. The manufacturer is unknown. This novelty pencil was considered somewhat risqué back in the day. It features a photo of a model wearing a low-cut black cocktail dress. But, when the pencil is turned upside-down, the dress lowers leaving her clad in red undergarments! So, please see my large photos and read the remaining description to decide if this neat peek-a-boo pencil should be yours. This Danish novelty pencil is in clean, good condition. It measures 5¼” long x 7/16” at widest and features a smoky gray plastic barrel and cap end, transparent plastic upper section, and steel clip/trim. There are no dings, cracks, or metal oxidation noted, but it has the typical light usage marks from the years that one expects. Also, the barrel is a bit wavy, as pictured, but I had another one of these years ago and it was the same. Plus, the clip rests firmly against the barrel with no gap. Overall, this fun pencil presents very nicely and is still quite the eye-catcher! The pencil uses 1.1mm (.046”) lead in its simple and dependable spiraling mechanism. Rotation of the tip extends the lead and retraction, when needed, takes a turn in the opposite direction. There is no provision for an eraser with this pencil design. Lastly, the pencil is well-balanced with adequate mass and feels great on paper with the large, soft lead of yesteryear!
