Description: Up for auction is this vintage obsolete California Department of Corrections Correctional Officer badge made in the USA by Sun Badge Company. It was my first badge "pinned" on me on my graduation day from the academy, September 1987. As a woman in the department at that time was very challenging. Affirmative Action was still in play. I retired in 2014 having worked various facilities and assignments. Would love to write a book about my career - "I was a prison Diva"...lol.... Measures approximately 2 3/4 inches, has a small "dent" on top. Today's badges are a bit bigger and have now the word Rehabilitation (CDCR). Great addition to your collection.
