Description: His name is Charlie. He is a large Savi wood mask with the crocodile tongue. He’s been hanging in our family home for over 35 years. He was purchased in Middle Septic River, Papua New Guinea back in the 1980’s. We are now looking for a new home for him with someone who will love him as much as our beloved mother did. Savi masks are known for their tongues. Such tongue sticking out of the mask mouth is a sign of aggressiveness towards enemies of their clan and as a protection against black magic. In this case, the tongue is in the shape of a crocodile (pukpuk) and represents an ancestor or clan spirit. He is in very good condition. He is approximately 28”tall and 7”wide, just a little over 6lbs. Please note We not experts in authenticating this listing by any means please inspect the pictures and be the judge. If you would like any other photos we’d be happy to send. Any questions are welcome. Thank you for checking out Charlie!
