Description: Graceful 8" tall porcelain teapot. Well celebrated blue and white transfer ware found through out Eastern Asia. This piece has an array of floral designs that entwine around the entire base so that the foliage appears to be growing in a surreal garden. The floral design is also displayed on the lid. In contrast to the free flowing plant life, the borders are made up of symmetrical lines, including the tip of the finial of the lid.So as to not be completely bare, the handle and spout both have classic, simple blue stripes. The handles and spout give an air of elegance to the serving piece. The handle is also ergonomically appealing. The upturned top of the handle keeps the thumb place correctly while pouring. You may see, but can definitely feel a slight change in width on the inside of the handle right above where the pinkie finger goes. This helps with the grip also. There is writing on the bottom that I am unfamiliar with and at some point, somebody placed the little cushions wood protectors. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing.
