Kano designed only two posters for the Roxy. The Roxy, one of New York's most legendary night clubs, expanded the DJ-ing careers of such Hip Hop pioneers as Grand Mixer D.ST, Afrika Bambaataa, DJ Jazzy Jay, DJ Red Alert, Afrika Izlam, Whiz Kid, Grand Wizard Theodore, and Charles Case. The Hip Hop nights, originally conceived and promoted by Kool Lady Blue, attracted a mix of South Bronx kids and Downtown punk and art scene types. The Rock Steady Crew, the Double Dutch Girls, Kurtis Blow, Run DMC, and The Beastie Boys performed there. The Roxy significantly influence the evolution of Hip Hop culture worldwide.
