Vintage Progress Novelty Casting Works PNCW Metal Trimmed Wood DRESSER Box

Description: Vintage Rectangular Trinket Box or Dresser Box, Marked on the Lid PNCW (Progress Novelty Casting Works) Made in USA. The box is made out of wood and then there is a heavy metal that lines the outside of the box and the lid. There is an oval emblem of a painting in the center and the top is a thin layer of bakelite or celluloid on top of the wood piece. The emblem is slightly loose and moves around just a little bit. This is an old box by the shape of the wood. It is 2 pieces, the lid is removable. Measures 5 1/4" wide by 3 3/8" high. It is 1 1/4" deep. I know nothing about this box, it belonged to my mom and it has just been packed away in a box since we moved. It is a heavy piece. Most of the items that I sell are antique or vintage as as such they do show signs of patina, use, and age. That only adds to the character that so many collectors desire. If there are any major issues or defects, I try to describe them to the best of my ability and as accurately as possible.
