Description: Luminator Flipdot Sign from a retired GOH R32 These single flip dot signs replaced the dual combination end route and destination sign curtains when the R32 and R38 fleet were overhauled in the late 1980s. A serial DB9 9-pin data cable was hooked up to the route sign mounted on the top of the subway car on one end and to a dial that was installed in the crew cab for the train crew to change the sign to the appropriate route their train was running on on the other end. The data cable seen in the photos is not the exact same cable used, but it is very similar. Flip dot box measures 20” W x 15” H x 4” D. Dial measures 4” W x 7” H x 2.5” D. I have a few of these available for sale, they are all identical with the exception of some cosmetic differences. All signs have been tested and are in some form of working order, but 30+ year old technology does not work the same as it used to. I not made any modifications to the sign or the dial. These signs require at most 37.5 volts and 2 amps in order to work, it can be hooked up to a power supply. I can provide a link so you may purchase one separately if you need one, as power/batteries will not be included. All sales are final. Please pay within 48 hours.
