They are also usable for cabinet handles. The chrome plating over brass gives a sleek and polished finish, that is strong and durable. While the red adds a pop of color. The red may be plastic but it was made in the 1950s so I'm pretty sure it's bakelite. You will need screws, they are not included. I believe these are New Old Stock. They do not appear to have ever been used. When I bought them to do my kitchen, which I decided not to do, that's how they were advertised to me was as NOS. But they are not in the original packaging, so they may need polishing because they have some faint scratches from storage.
