Description: Vintage Restoration Hardware take on the classic Penguin Cocktail Shaker. A staple of 1930's Art Deco cocktail culture, the original penguin was designed by Emil Schuelke for the Napier Company in 1936. This one is 11" tall, 8" maximal depth (with beak and handle aligned), 4 1/4" wide. Nickel plate on base metal and differs from the original in elements of design. Namely, in the original Penguin shaker the entire beak is hinged, this one is not and there is a screw threaded metal stopper at the end of the beak. Conveniently, unlike other reproductions this is also conspicuously marked as a Restoration Hardware product on the base. This is an estate find without box but likely never used
