Description: This rubber faced plush toy is vintage and most likely from the 50's or 60's. Check out that face. He is fab. Possibly a fox - my guess by the snout and the red hair painted on. His body is fur yellow on his tummy and rust colored on his back and hood. Check out the eyes and eyelashes. So kitschy and cool. He has no tags. HOWEVER - I did a bunch of research and the only place I found this item was on a Rushton collector's site. It was listed with 2 other plush under Gund - HOWEVER, it appears only one of the 3 items shown in the picture was Gund - and it wasn't this item. The photo they used from a Worthpoint auction. Worthpoint listed one item as a Gund very rare Disney dog item (which wasn't this one). It listed the other two items as Rushton including this one. Additionally, it is worth noting that they believed this guy to be rare as well, and based their assessment on his facial features which certainly do look like Rushton and body type. I do know for sure, this is a rare rubber faced doll from the 50's most likely. It is in good condition overall with small loss of paint on his snout, a bit of wear on his fur (but very minimal considering his age) and he is a bit dingy from being stored. I only gave him a gentle wipe down, I leave cleaning to the buyer as I never want to damage anything valuable. As it is not tagged, I can only tell you what other experts say. I do believe it is Rushton. And it is indeed adorable, vintage, cool and has a kitschy rubber anthropomorphic face. I'm sure the combo will make some collector super happy.
