Description: Vintage, folk art, scroll cut Santa Claus/ in the Chimney decoration. Measuring 16 inches in height, this hand painted , one of a kind creation is delightfully hand painted, with a very expressive Santa peering wide eyed from the chimney top, through to the fireplace where his feet in boots, dangle. Both sides are painted. It sits securely in a wooden oval cut base, painted a dreary war time gray. This Santa Claus Figure is made ¼” thick wood and is not signed. My guess is it is pre WW2, when scroll saws were common, and is a choice and rare piece with no issues to report, for folk art & Christmas lovers who want to add a touch of whimsey. He’d be fun to peer over a little Christmas village, or with display of miniature dogs at his feet! You'll not find another- for sure!
