Description: This listing is for vintage sewing card kit / game - age unknown. Box is marked Spear's Games - Picture Sewing Cards - Manufactured at the Spear Works, Bavaria Designed in England. Box measure approximately 12 1/2" x 7 3/8" x 1". Box has some wear to the edges and corners - tear on one edge of the lid. Sewing cards are approximately 3 7/8" x5 5/8" - prepunched holes. 4 do not have color and are marked - Spear's Games - Printed at the Spear Works Bavaria - designs are: Japanese lady in a kimono with a baby on her back, Dutch girl, 2 little sailor boys with a sailboat, girl on a broom. There are 4 unmarked sewing cards the punched holes that the design is in color. Designs are: Children watering a flower, children reading a book and girl is holding a little black rag doll, little girl in a Christmas outfit ? receiving flowers from a poor girl, little girl holding a treat for her dog. The cards with the dog and the children with a book both have thread and needle on them but are not completed and the one with the book has a pencil scribble on the front and a small tear just above the dolls head. The inserts the cards set on have pencil scribbles. There are pieces of yarn and embroidery thread that have some wear. There are a couple extra needles. There is a very tiny metal child's thimble. The thimble is embossed but difficult to read - maybe ENCOO ? maybe ends with a D and the numbers 02. It's approximately 1/2" high. There are 2 pieces of cloth that have drawings on them - one is 9" x 18" and has a pencil drawing of a bunny rabbit and a duck - neither are stitched. The other piece is smaller and has an embroidered duck. Both pieces of cloth have spotting. Local pick up is available. We use recycled packing whenever possible.
