Description: Vintage Surrealist Icarus Falling Studio Pottery Sculpture Striking studio pottery sculpture Icarus falling from the sky with deteriorated wings, likely a modernist depiction of Greek fable. Has a unique surrealist panache with unusual extremities and grotesque musculature. The torso section has a very deep and subtly detailed texture of the abdominal muscles. Signed on back in an artist cypher I haven’t been able to crack and dated 1972. Comes with white wood plinth. Measures 17in wide x 12in tall x 8.5in deep with plinth, 12in wide x 6in deep x 8in tall sculpture only. Excellent vintage condition.
