Description: Small but delightful vintage Takahashi trinket/pin dish featuring a hummingbird in flight about to feed from a pink hibiscus bloom. The hummingbird is made in relief to the main dish and is undamaged in any way. The dimensional blooms surround the main part of the dish and are still vibrant and clean. The Takahashi Trading Company (established in 1945) in San Francisco, imported home goods from Japan for both wholesale and retail purposes. As they became increasingly successful, locations were opened in various large cities in the USA. The family was known for it's philanthropy for not only post war Japan, but also for promoting a better understanding of Japanese art and culture in the USA though it's charitable foundation. The company ceased trading in 2019.
