Description: Vintage Three Skeleton Key Set Ring Tag H PEARL & SONS An interesting surviving set of two bronze and one steel skeleton key blanks, on a brass ring with a stamped identity tag. The keys are around 4 inches long. The tag reads (by line):H PEARL& SONSSPEC 244opposite side--a simple large '110' is stamped, and a smaller '110'The same code 'SPEC 244' is stamped on the head of one of the bronze keys. I think the '244' refers to the blank number and style of key, and '110' maybe an internal reference for a bin or hook number for storage? I suspect the name refers to Henry Pearl and Sons, 42 Murray St in New York City-- a locksmith and lock provider. If you search on completed eBay listings, someone has sold invoice copies with this company's name on them from 1916!. They were dealers in Blount door closers and Norton Locks and claimed to be 'Dealers in all makes of Locks and Keys'. These looks to be a cast blanks with signs of machine finishing, so later production.
