Description: Torquay Pottery Motto Ware set. This includes a tea cup and saucer and a creamer and sugar set. These were produced in Devon England in the 1950's. These are hand painted with incised text. The creamer says "There's no wealth but Life", the sugar bowl says "Fine words will not fill", and the cup says "Waste Not Want Not". The creamer measures approximately 3" high and 3" across including the handle. The sugar bowl is 3 1/2" across and 1 3/4" high. The cup measures approximately 3" high and 4 1/2" across including the comfortable handle. The base of the cup is marked "Watcombe Devon Motto Ware England". The creamer and sugar are both marked "Made in England". The saucer is unmarked. These have been used but are in overall good condition. The edge of the cup has a few small chips.
