Vintage Tweed Jacket French Light Wool Coat Early 1900s Tailcoat

Description: This gorgeous jacket is French and dates from circa 1890-1910. Its heavy and sturdy, but light enough to be worn indoors like a dinner jacket! A single button remains to fasten up the front, 3 others will need replacing. The body of this garment is a cotton wool blend tweed and the lining is (I think) a satinized cotton. The exterior tone is a dark gray, with little flecks of white, red and blue when you look closely! The sleeves are lined in a striped shirting material. Lightly worn, please see the full condition below! There are interior pockets on each breast, 2 exterior pockets and 2 false pockets at the waist. There are also secret pockets in each of the tailcoats, I think these were used to hold tobacco! Lovely, sturdy construction that should keep these garment going for years to come! ~ The original brand label is on the interior back of the collar. ~*~ ~*~ ( E278 ) MEASUREMENTS : This lovely vintage textile measures approximately, 34 inches long 22 inch sleeves 15 inch shoulders ( seam to seam laid straight across the back) 19 inches across the chest, laid flat from one underarm to the other across the front 34 inches around the waist. CONDITION : This jacket is in as found, not freshly laundered condition with light storage dust. There are some pale dusty looking marks from storage that I think will wash, but they may not wash fully. There are missing buttons on the front and back tailcoat area, and a button on each cuff is broken. The lining and exterior has some signs of wear but generally in lovely condition indeed. ~*~ 2/13/20
