Description: This Rare Ivory vintage telephone operator headset is a must-have for any collector of retro communication gear. The Bell System 19A made by Western Electric headset with an Articulated Microphone pickup arm is designed to work with the BELL SYSTEM Western Electric Switchboard and boasts a classic look that will transport you back to a bygone era. Really nice, used condition!! The headpiece is adjustable. The clear earpiece has an obvious bit of edging gone but not too bad. The earpiece has a metal band that shows "L4GL". The microphone is very clean. Has an Esterbrook cord clip (not pictured) and a leather gather clip also. It features a monitor jack for supervisor, and a user mute on/off switch, on the 281B that has a sturdy metal clip built-in. It has a quality spring-coiled cable that measures 3 feet long, relaxed, from the 281B to the 464A dual plug. Special feature is the 292B amplifier for the switchboard operator to turn the knob for optimum audio from 1 to 9, and it feels fine. Very Clean. See the photos. It appears that the 2 small holes on the side of the 281B Supervisor Monitor jack are the right size for 1 end of a Switchboard cable that i have listed that is Black and 7',8" long.
