Vintage Windup Toy in Box TN Toys Nomura Japan Knitting Cat Works 1950s

Description: Welcome to Milkweed Antiques. This delightful windup toy is "Knitting Cat" by T.N. or Toys Nomura. She was made in Japan. The box she sits on is lithographed tin. The box shows various house scenes. It is marked "Made in Japan". She is white plush. She has a red tin nose and glass eyes. Her hands are brown plastic. Her glasses and knitting needles are metal. She is wearing an off white apron with a pink satin ribbon bow. She has another satin ribbon bow at her neck that is light blue. The yarn she is knitting is orange. She has a permanent key. She was tested and does work. Please see the video. The box is 6-1/4" tall x just over 3-1/2" wide x 3-1/4" thick. She is only 6-1/8" tall x approximately 3" wide at her elbows x 3-5/8" deep. The original box is also included. It has the original set on lid. The box and lid have stapled seams. She is from the 1950s. This cat was well loved through the years. She shows a bit of dirt to the plush. There are a couple of spots where the plush is rubbed off. One is on her ear, and by the key from being wound. Her plastic fingers are mostly gone. There are a couple of scratches to the litho. The metal glasses and knitting needles show a bit of tarnishing. The box has a couple of stickers on the top that are Christmas related. One end of the lid has both corners torn. There are holes in the bottom from the toy. Please see the pictures. They help with the description. My price reflects the condition.
