Vitnage Christmas St. Nicholas Day Chocolate Mold Clog Letang Fils 1920s

Description: Welcome to Milkweed Antiques. This chocolate mold is a very interesting design. It is a clog that is part of a tradition in some European countries. For St. Nicholas Day Eve, which is December 5, children would put their clogs or shoes on the windowsills or outside their bedroom doors hoping they would be filled with treats and small toys the next day. This tradition is still practiced today. The mold is made from steel and tin. A magnet sticks to all parts except maybe the pins. This mold is impressed "Letang Fils - 108 R. Vieille du Temple, Paris" and on the flip side "10 in an oval - 870". I have not had this type of chocolate mold that has "pin" hinges. I did not want to remove the pins, but they are loose. This clog mold is 4-1/4" deep from the tip of the shoe to the back x 2-3/4" wide x 1-1/2" tall. This mold is from c1920s. This chocolate mold has been used through the years. It has a nice darkened patina. There are scuffs and scratches. There are a couple of small bends at the top. There is some surface rust. There is some wear to the silver finish. As I mentioned above, I am not sure about the pins coming out of the hinges. Please see my pictures!! They help with the description. My price reflects the condition.
