Description: Description: The item up for bids is a stylish vintage art deco LeCoultre desk clock. I believe it dates to the 1930s (prior to the merger with Jaeger). It features a round brass case finished in black enamel raised up on two conical brass feet that give the clock a rakish back lean. The face is gold with superb art deco Arabic numeral markers and is housed under a convex glass lens. The hands are blued and the hour hand has a circular cutout at the pointer end. The numerals and hands have lume but they no longer glow. The clock face is marked LE COULTRE, 8 in a circle, SWISS. The feet are engraved with an inscription that reads Aerial, Christmas1944. It is a great looking period art deco clock from a quality maker, have some fun and bid! Dimensions: The case is about 2-3/4” in diameter. The overall height is about 3” tall to the top of the crown. (Note: measurements are approximate) Condition: Due to the age of the clock it is being sold ‘as-is’ as seen in the photos for parts or restoration. It is in fair to good vintage condition. The clock winds, sets, and runs. With a partial winding it ran steadily for three days but ran a bit fast picking up several minutes. It shows age appropriate handling and storage wear including scuffs, scratches, and dings. The brass elements have patina. The black enameling shows finger wear and loss around the crown. The glass lens is in nice shape, clean and clear with no damage. The gold face is in good shape. The lume is aged with some loss on the hour hand. It’s not a museum piece but it still presents fairly well. The pictures are the best indicator as to condition, please use the zoom feature and check them out. Shipping: The buyer of this fine item will be responsible for shipping costs which will be added to the final bid. Shipping costs and options are described on the "Shipping and payments" tab in the listing.
