Description: Original vintage 1956 travel brochure for Mullet Key. St. Petersburg, Florida. Mullet key is a tropical island at the mouth of Tampa Bay, Florida. It is home to Fort Desoto and Fort Desoto park. Before 1962 when a causeway opened, you could only access the Key by boat or plane. Once on the island, there was recreation such as fishing, birdwatching, shelling, and a bath house,. There was also a miniature railroad from the pier to Old Fort Desoto. Paper brochure is a 2-way fold, in dark green ink. By the Pinellas County Park Authority, R. Hosey Wick, Chairman and Aden O. Smith Park Director. Brochure is in good condition, was nicely preserved in a 1956 vacation scrapbook of a trip to the Tampa Bay area. Slight edge and surface wear, no rips or writing. 8" x 9" when open.
