Description: VTG 1960's LEICA 17 JEWEL INCABLOC, AS 1700 AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT, DATE, SWISS I am selling this watch for a family member and we don't have too much info about it other than it works and is clean. I did a little research and found that these 1960's Leica watches were licensed with different 3rd party watch makers such as Harper, Arnex and Enicar. It appears this one was made by Swiss watch maker Harper with an AS 1700 /01 automatic Swiss movement. I was also told by Leica Super Fans that these were employee gifts for Leica employees or major distributors who served 10, 15, 20 years etc. which seems to make the most sense and is consistent with current online info. I've seen this EXACT watch with a Tiffany, Hilton and GE logos from the 60's. 33 mm case size, hand winds smoothly and the date function turns as it should. Keeping good time, the movement may need a scheduled minor service (not sure), it appears it may have been serviced in 2013 (marking on the inside of the case back). See last photo, one lug 1 o'clock position) is ever so slightly lower. 2 mm fissure at the 5 marker, it is smooth to the touch and has been there a very long time without any issue. (see last photo) There are hundreds of replacement vintage acrylic crystals on eBay for $5.00 - $15.00. Nice AFORDABLE Leica, which is a near impossible thing. Sold as is
