Brilliant coloring of green, blue, orange, brown edge with gold accents throughout the plates.They have raised designs on outer edge. In beautiful vintage condition - no chips or cracks. This is a vintage 1921-1947 era, four (4) piece set, of Moriage, “Satsuma”, Japanese plates. Moriage is a term used for raised paint. These are hand painted, raised enamel, porcelain plates depicting a man and a woman. The figures are painted on a brown background with orange and blue clothing accented with 22kt gold. The edge of the plates is also trimmed in 22kt gold. Each plate is signed “Made in Japan”, has a slightly, concave shape.
