The box reads in part: American Thread Co., Star Disc Bobbins, Style A, Size FF, Mil-T-7807 Type 1. Each bobbin holds 12 yards and is in the colorway #5495 Evergreen. This green is so dark it looks black depending on the way the light shines one it. The yarn bobbins read Made in USA Nylon FF, and Star Bobbin, Style A American Thread Company. The bobbins are in very good condition for their age. The box does have a tear in the center and has some yellowing and foxing to the cardboard. The bobbins measure approximately 3/4 inches across and just under 1/2 inch wide. The box measures approximately 4 7/8 inches by 5 1/2 inches and is approximately 3/4 inches deep. This box would most likely have been sold to a general store where it would have been placed in an old thread cabinet allowing individuals to buy the bobbins individually. Best guess as to age would be circa the 1930s - 40s. They would make a great addition to any collection of vintage sewing and craft items.
