Description: Lot #2282This lot contains various types of vintage/antique salvaged lace, trim and fabric remnants. All the lace is cotton and dates from late 1800s to about 1930. There are some flaws such as netting breaks, some spotting but lots of useable pieces, especially for small projects like dolls, paper journals, scrapbooking, needles books, slow stitching, teddy bears and embellishments for quilting etc. All the pieces are clean with a few having tiny breaks in the mesh. Colors range from white to darker ecru and are described below. —Large lace piece from a salvaged dress measures approx 9” x 13”. It is fine with a very soft drape. This piece has a lovely ruffled 7/8” netting overlayed on netting.alternating with a 3/4” Val lace. All assembled by hand. Very light ecru in color.—Netted lace with fine corded cotton design. Piece measure 8 3/4” x 6 1/2” annd has a geometric design Ecru in color. —Small motif combination of Irish crochet and netted lace. Piece measures 4 1/2” x 5” and is ecru in color.—Listing the laces as they appear in the pictures: —2 Hand worked knitted trim pieces which each measure 2 3/4” x 23 1/2”. Linen white in color. There are two of these pieces so I’m guessing that they were meant to be used for pillowcase trim. —Very Fine knitted trim measures 2” x 81” (2 1/4yds) These were knitted on very small “Knitting Pins” with a diamond design .The trim is very fine and is light ecru in color.—Insertion lace that measures 2” x 25”. Medium weight Schiffli Lace in an ecru color. —Fine Ecru insertion lace with a scallop border and fine oval ribbon insertion “eyelets” in the center. After inserting the ribbon it could be used flat or you could pull the ribbon for a “ruched” effect. this lace measures 2” wide x 90” long ( 2 1/2 yds)—Short piece of embroidered scalloped net measures 1 1/2” x 12”. Off white. Perfect for small projects.—Very fine white val lace that measures 7/8” x 20”—White Embroidered Insertion for white work projects. Measures 1 1/4” x 2+yds,( 76”)—Off white netted lace with a small leaf pattern and scalloped edge. Measures 2” x 36” ( 1 yd)—Very fine white Alencon Lace with a lovely floral pattern. Measures 1 3/4” x 51” long—Gathered Val Lace measures 3/4” x 54” ( 1 1/2 yds)—Very fine White insertion lace measures 2 1/4” wide x 32” long. Lovely scrolling pattern—Alencon edging lace. Ecru color Measures 3/4” x 126” ( 3 1/2 yds )—Medium weight Hand Made Insertion lace. Light ecru in color. Measures 1 7/8” x 120” ( 3 1/3 yds )— 2 Lace Cuffs. Embroidered netted lace. With padded satin stitch and eyelets. Each cuff measures 2 1/4” x 9”. —White Crochet Scalloped Edging that measures 3” x 72” (2 yds)—Lace remnant that is gold in color and measures 3-4” wide and is 25” long. Probably from an evening dress or nightgown set. I will also include a “Mystery” Bag of assorted small lace and remnant pieces. Lace pieces less than 6”, but usable for so many small projects. I really do hate to throw anything out.
