Description: Interesting item that was last used as a lamp although I have considered that it might have originally been a candle holder. It stand appropriately 20 tall and 7 wide at the base. Weighs in at just under 7 lbs. It has a Phoenix on one side a a dragon on the other and both are looking at a sun image in the middle. This holds a significant symbolism in the Chinese culture for a powerful union of renewal, strength, and , and cosmic balance. Dragon signifying strength and Phoenix rebirth. I also read that these symbols were sometimes represented an emperor and empress. It does look old and has plenty of wear and patina. I was very tempted to clean off the patina but decide to leave that up to the buyer. It is out together in section as I can turn some of the middle pieces. If you are interested in this item please let me know if the middle light fixture section is needed because I would like to remove it to discard. It is rusted and would need to be replaced anyway. Doing this can help with shipping cost. No makers mark was found and I could not find another like it.
