It is a candle holder that looks like a Victorian style lantern. Looking at it you think it is likely black wrought iron, but the decorative black scrolling around the glass candle holder is made of hard PLASTIC! The plastic is black although some of my photos look like a dark blue - the wrought iron look plastic is black. There is a knobby red glass votive holder that is specifically made for this lantern. It locks into place inside the base. There is plastic holly and pine cones decorating the base. I have not lit it, but I can imagine with the light shining through the red glass this little decoration will be the centerpiece of any holiday display!It stands approximately 5 1/4 inches tall. The glass votive holder has remains of a burnt candle in the bottom. The wrought iron looking plastic scrolls show some dust. I do not clean collectibles, but leave that to new owner/expert.
