Description: Vintage Effanbee Salvation Army War Cry RARE Museum Doll Composition Cloth Composition shoulder head, cloth body. This was purchased from a collector’s estate. Marked Effanbee on the back shoulder plate. Effanbee button pin is sewn into the cape. Extremely rare doll. Hand written paper attached, purchased from Museum Collection at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester NY. I could not authenticate that it was part of the Museum Collection as according to the Museum there will be a 5 or 6 digit code either written on the neck of the doll or sewn in the clothes. You may be able to find it, I did not. If it was part of the collection several years ago, it may have worn off. Condition: outfit is faded and has staining. Hair is thinning. Bonnet is good. Bonnet has Salvation Army ribbon, though very faded. Overall is dirty and dusty. Shoes are cracked. Composition - on hands is very damaged. Face has some cracks. One side of neck composition has peeled off. Eyes are painted and have wear to paint. Note that the neck tie to the cape is damaged. One side of the strings was brittle and broke so it is retied. Original Effanbee button pin that the back is stitched into the cape. Doll is overall very nice for a display and highly collectible. I could not find this in any Effanbee doll books.
