Description: Vtg Gearhart Sock Knitting Machine Wood Shipping Crate w/ Original Top, Labels Very nice vintage wood shipping crate made to ship a Gearhart Standard circular sock knitting machine. This crate is unusual in that it has its original top with the hand-lettered name and address of the Gearhart machine purchaser: L.A. Rosberg, Kennedy, Minn., Route 3, Box 51. Kennedy is a very small town in northwest Minnesota, not far from the Canadian border. You will notice in photo 12 that the top consists of two separate tongue and grooved boards. There are a couple paper labels on the crate, one of which provides opening instructions. Size of crate is 15" x 10' x 11" high. Would be a great display piece or perfect to store to store an antique Gearhart knitting machine in. Wood shipping crate only, no sock knitting machine! Excellent condition, with strong graphics and lettering. Top has some soiling and light water-staining as seen, as well as a couple chips from opening (photo 12). All boards solidly nailed on.
