Item Background/History: Gorham was founded in Providence Rhode Island by Jabez Gorham in 1831. Between 1850-1940, Gorham was highly influential with the White House using many Gorham silver services for many administration events. This design is imitated by other manufacturers, but Gorham has the original and most sought-after Chantilly pattern. This pattern with the pentagon shape indicates it was made in the 1950's.
