Description: Vintage Japanese early 20th century biscuit-cookie-decorative jar. Simple tree stump with a very realistic looking squirrel eating a nut on lid. All in the details. Hand painted - not glazed - rare Handle is removable for storage Has wicker handle Lid 4.5 “ Jar 6” across Opening 4” Depth 7” Jar height 7.25 Height with handle up 13” Squirrel 3” tall centered on lid * all measurements are approximate Paint in spots worn off. Where handle attaches, on top of lid, and on top of edge. This may be true of other areas on stump although it blends in with the appearance of stump so it is hard to distinguish. Beauty is the simplicity of this piece. Preowned. Comes as is. You may see a little dust in spots. Because of hand painting I only used a feather duster on it. Please examine pictures for questions and concerns for better explanation. I did my best to highlight all in pictures.
