Description: Vtg Lace Textile Scene Depicting 1776 Signing of Declaration of IndependenceUp for auction is a very handsome lace textile honoring the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence. The scene is the moment that the members of the Continental Congress signed the document. They are Thomas Jefferson, John Hancock and others. The scene is filled with great symbols--there are eagles in the top corners. The bottom corners have Independence Hall and the Capitol Building. There are native Americans with tomahawks on the sides. It is signed with the initials FB or perhaps PB underneath the bottom center "1776" panel. The piece is a 22" square. I believe this was from the 1976 Bicentennial era, though I'm not 100% certain. I found it in a thrift shop in a beat up frame. I removed it from the frame that no one would want but the frame protected the textile and it's in excellent condition. The border has some little paper residue that can be cleaned off from the matte board but again, this is in lovely condition.I'm happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases when it can be done in a way that keeps all items safe.*Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week. If you happen to purchase after I return from the post office on shipping day it will be a full week wait until I am able to ship again. But most people will have a much shorter wait and some will have very fast shipping. No one will have to wait more than 5 business days. Thank you for understanding.
