Vtg. MCM seahorse art pottery ceramic lamp.

Description: The item is sold as is, as found, and as you see it. The sale is for a vtg MCM art pottery hand painted seahorse and plant life ceramic lamp. The lamp features hand painted details of stylized seahorses and plant life in dark blues and rust colors. The pottery can have a muted bleeding effect. The background has muted browns and greens on a light gray under glaze. No chips/cracks but has age related issues. Lamp works. Light bulb, when inserted can take a while to screw in socket which can be jiggly; not an electrical issue and can have socket replaced. Cord and plug is ok. Cord is dirty and a bit stiff. The lamp shape is square ish at top in a tiered fashion. The front and side panels slope inward. The bottom protrudes out like top. The glaze will have pin and bubble holes like the blue in the seahorse and in other places. There are dimples, pottery flaws, spots and dots and lumps and bumps that are made that way. The left side near bottom has a clear texture on surface; not damage. One can scratch it off with a nail. The top of lamp near middle has brown and spot stains; should clean and may be a small paint stain and pottery flaws; lines and pot marks type; made that way. The sides and backsides have sea life decoration. Old white paint drips on front side. The metal hardware is tarnished and darkened. The gold coating on socket is worn. The pottery can have some scratches but not bad at all. The underside has some green sticky felt remnants that is worn and dirty and ripped off in the center. Dirt in crevices. The metal piece on top of lamp has some pitting and age related tarnish wear. Cool lamp and great subject matter. 20.5 from bottom to top of harp. 15.25 from bottom to top of socket. Lamp only: 10.75" X 8" X 5".
