VTG REVERE WARE 1801 COPPER CLAD 10 IN SKILLET NO LID OLD MARK CLINTON ILL EXCON

Description: Vintage Revere Ware 1801 Copper Clad 10 inch Skillet (no lid) with old "process patent" mark which is in excellent condition with no dents, stains or excessive scratching or warping of bottom. Skillet has been thoroughly cleaned and copper bottom is bright and shiny. It has a shiny mirror finish and no undue wear to copper bottom or sides, only normal use scratching consistent with age. The "process patent" pieces have a thicker layer of copper on bottom and are very desirable. The bakelite handle is in excellent condition and not dried out, and has hanging ring attached. Mark on bottom of skillet is faint; however I can just barely make out the "Ill" indicating it was made in Clinton, Illinois pre 1968. The skillet has a diameter of 10 inches at rim and is slightly over 2 1/4 inches in depth. The handle is just over 6 1/2 inches in length. Note: Remember that Revere Ware cookware is NOT designed to be used on glass or ceramic top stoves. It is for use on gas cooktops and the conventional coil electric cooktops. Revere has rounded edge bottoms and will often not sit securely on the flat ceramic/glass top stoves. It was designed long before ceramic/glass top stoves came into existence. I do not recommend purchasing Revere Ware online that has not been cleaned and polished - you cannot see flaws which may exist beneath all the dirt and tarnish! NOTE: I highly recommend "Barkeeper's Friend" to clean the stainless and polish the copper - it works very well without being too abrasive. The powdered version is better than the liquid! You can also use the mineral oil for butcher blocks to condition the handles and knobs of your cookware if they begin to get dull. Revere Ware should NOT be washed in the dishwasher if you want the handles and knobs to remain shiny and in good condition. Prolonged dishwasher use will dry them out and cause discoloration and breakage. I have used Revere Ware Copper Clad cookware exclusively for many years (as did my mother and grandmother) and I highly recommend it. In my opinion, it is the best cookware ever made! Revere Ware's copper clad cookware has become highly collectible as younger generations realize the quality and discover that this vintage line is really the "Gold Standard" of American cookware. I have been buying and selling this cookware for some years; as well as using on a daily basis. However, with its popularity it has become more and more difficult to find Revere Ware in decent condition and priced reasonably. Skillets in this 10 inch size are particularly hard to find in good condition! I purchased this piece at a local estate sale; however I already have one of this size so am selling. This is a great opportunity to add a beautiful and practical larger skillet to your Revere Ware cookware at a very reasonable price! 1.
